Café La Mer sits directly on the water at Clifton Gardens, offering a unique dining experience that blends relaxed beachside vibes with the sophistication of French café culture. Our philosophy is simple: fresh, delicious food in a setting that captures the very best of Sydney's harbour beauty.

As a casual beachside café and takeaway spot, we don't take daytime bookings—simply wander in and find a seat, or enjoy our takeaway menu in the park or along the beach when outdoor life is calling.

Experience The Season

Extended evenings, golden sunsets, and relaxed coastal moments—perfect for dining, gatherings, and celebrations by the water.

Private Events

For larger groups, we offer private functions in a separate, extended licensed space during summer evenings. These events can take place during weekends Fri–Sun, 5:30pm–8:30pm. Perfect for birthdays, corporate gatherings, or special celebrations with capacity up to 40 guests.

Summer Sunset Sessions

Over summer, we extend into the evening on weekends with our much-loved Sunset Sessions, where you can unwind by the water from 12pm until 9pm. Feel the breeze, watch the sun set over Chowder Bay, and enjoy fresh coastal flavours with friends and family.
