Café La Mer sits directly on the water at Clifton Gardens, surrounded by a large park, playground, jetty and the calm waters of Chowder Bay. Our name—French for "Sea Café"—perfectly captures our essence: a place where the relaxed Australian beach lifestyle meets the elegance of French café culture.
We opened our doors with a simple vision: to create a welcoming space where locals and visitors alike could enjoy exceptional food and coffee in one of Sydney's most beautiful natural settings.

No Daytime Bookings
Because we operate as a beachside café and takeaway venue, we do not accept daytime reservations. Groups are welcome anytime, but seating is not guaranteed. Simply wander in or enjoy takeaway on the beach!

Private Events & Sunset Sessions
During summer weekends (Fri–Sun, 5:30–8:30pm), we open a separate licensed space perfect for birthdays, engagements, corporate events, and celebrations for up to 40 guests.
